TRA Launches New Website

Oyster Bay, NY (June 11, 2013)—The Theodore Roosevelt Association (TRA) is pleased to announce the relaunch of our website, www.theodoreroosevelt.org, with a dynamic, modern design, new content and interactive features. This long-awaited change will enable us to better serve our members, attract new members, raise the visibility of the TRA, our programs and initiatives, and enhance our public education and outreach efforts. We are continuing to add content according to web best practices to keep the new website current and fresh.

Tweed Roosevelt, president of the TRA, commented on the website’s launch: “The TRA is delighted to move into the 21st century with its new website. We can now pass on to a whole new audience the ideals of Theodore Roosevelt.” Mr. Roosevelt, a great-grandson of Theodore Roosevelt, also wrote a blog post about what TR, an active and energetic user of the social media of his day, might do with the platforms we are familiar with today, like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Notable features of www.theodoreroosevelt.org include:

  • TR Day-by-Day, which gives a brief fact each day about TR, his life and legacy;
  • Rotating homepage images and content about current TRA events and initiatives;
  • Secure and easy dues, donation, and event registration processing;
  • Our blog, in which writers will make observations about TR, his life and legacy, and readers will be able to add their thoughts through an interactive comment feature;
  • A homepage events calendar highlighting both Association-wide and chapter events;
  • New content about aspects of TR’s life and legacy.

Laurence Pels, Executive Director of the TRA, said of the website relaunch: “With our new web presence, the TRA will continue its mission to inform the citizens of the world about the values and principles of Theodore Roosevelt. Visitors to the site will see how the TRA is moving forward.”

The site was developed under the direction of the TRA’s communications committee, and with the assistance of dedicated volunteers* living out Theodore Roosevelt’s dictum to work hard at work worth doing.

The Theodore Roosevelt Association is a congressionally chartered non-profit historical and public service organization dedicated to perpetuating the memory and ideals of Theodore Roosevelt. More information is available at www.theodoreroosevelt.org. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
