Preserving the memory of Theodore Roosevelt; Father, Rough Rider, Conservationist, Naturalist, Badlands Rancher, and Republican/Bull Moose Progressive statesman whose policies and accomplishments included the crafting the Square Deal, sending out the Great White Fleet, endorsing Big Stick Diplomacy, successfully preserving what is now thousands of acres of national park land including the Grand Canyon, winning the Nobel Peace Prize as well as the Medal of Honor and inspiring the creation of the teddy bear. Several of TR's residences have been preserved, including his primary residence at "Sagamore Hill", "Pine Knot" his woodsy Presidential retreat and a museum on the site of his birth home. TR is the youngest person to ever serve as President of the US. In addition to being a President, this remarkable man was a New York Legislator, New York Governor, Police Commissioner of NYC, on the Civil Service Commission, Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and Vice President. He served in the military with distinction rising to the rank of Colonel and leading the "Rough Riders". He was an author writing over 30 books (on many subjects) and an expert naturalist as well. After serving as President, TR still had an incredible passion for adventure and thirst for knowledge. This led him to the Brazilian jungle and an African Safari. He never completely overcame his grief at the death of his first wife, but found a constructive outlet as a rancher. That experience in North Dakota laid the foundations of his strong feelings on conservation. Eventually TR remarried and was an active father of six children in all.

It is little wonder the face of Theodore Roosevelt graces Mt. Rushmore as one of the greatest leaders of United States.
