American Maccabee: Theodore Roosevelt and the Jews

Join us on Saturday, April 11, 2026 for the 2026 Theodore Roosevelt Association Book Award Luncheon at the Explorers Club in New York City. Beginning at 11:30am, TRA’s Public Historian, Dr. Michael Cullinane, will lead a discussion with author Dr. Andrew Porwancher about his award-winning book, American Maccabee: Theodore Roosevelt and the Jews, published in 2025 by Princeton University Press.

Author

Dr. Andrew Porwancher, a Professor of History at Arizona State University, is also the author of The Jewish World of Alexander Hamilton, which won the Journal of the American Revolution Book-of-the-Year Award.

Guests will enjoy lunch, beverages, admission to the presentation, and book signing.
