2026 New Orleans Tour

We have an exciting trip planned for TRA members being held during Sail 250® New Orleans, the Navy's celebration of its milestone birthday. The city is also home to The National WWII Museum, where we will focus on the Roosevelt family's contribution to global peace and security. The group will visit Audubon Park known for its beautiful, large Spanish oaks draped in Spanish Moss, lakes and natural-looking wetlands, providing a great opportunity for bird watching.

Included is a guided, walking food tour in the French District combining culinary tastings with a history and culture lesson. We'll sample iconic dishes like gumbo, po-boys, and beignets from various local restaurants, specialty shops, and hole-in-the-wall spots while learning about the city's rich Creole and Cajun heritage. And we will take a day to explore Avery Island, famous for Tabasco(R) Sauce and the home of the Mcllhennys who had close connections to the Roosevelt family. Throughout the tour, experts and guides will explain how this unique place had a role in shaping Theodore Roosevelt's life.

Long before you arrive in New Orleans, you will receive a special package with reading materials (and other goodies) to prepare you for the adventures and the discussions.
