July 12, 2018 - All TRA members and friends are invited to a Friends' of Sagamore Hill July 12th John A. Gable Lecture Series presentation about Quentin Roosevelt and WWI by Dr. John Staudt. Dr. Staudt teaches in the History Department of Hofstra University, is an expert on early American history, and a frequent lecturer. His talk will focus on the wartime service of Quentin during WWI. The talk commemorates the centennial of Quentin's death on July 14, 1918 and will describe his contributions as a pioneer who helped develop early American military aviation.
The lecture is at Christ Church Parrish Hall, 61 East Main Street, Oyster Bay, at 7:00 PM. Admission and light refreshments are free.
Also, don't forget to come to Sagamore Hill on Saturday, July 14th, for the Quentin Roosevelt Centennial Biplane Flyover at 11:00 AM. Friends' board members will be there all day behind the Visitors' Center, so drop by and say hello.
