"teddy's
bears for kids" Why should I contribute? How can I contribute? The "Teddy's Bears for Kids" Program distributes teddy bears to hospitalized children in New York City at the winter holidays. The Theodore Roosevelt Association is a 501(c)(3) corporation Founded in 1919 and chartered by Congress in 1920. A copy of our latest audited annual report may be obtained, upon request, from the Theodore Roosevelt Association, P.O. Box 719, Oyster Bay, NY 11771-0719, or from the Office of the Attorney General, Charities Bureau, 120 Broadway, New York, NY 10271 |
Since 1986 the Theodore Roosevelt Association, in cooperation with the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site and the National Park Service, has given Teddy Bears to hospitalized children in New York City at the holiday season. Every year there are about 4,000-4,500 children in hospitals during the holidays. One bear costs approximately $4.50. The TRA looks to members and friends for funds to sustain this program this year and in the years to come. We think that it is most appropriate that Teddy Bears be given to children in the name of TR, the "Father of the Teddy Bear," in the city where he was born. |
