Theodore Roosevelt Association Inspires Young Explorers at Intrepid Museum’s Kids Week
February 2026
The Theodore Roosevelt Association (TRA) was thrilled to participate in Kids Week at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City from February 14–16, 2026. The event engaged thousands of children and families in a celebration of discovery, learning, and Theodore Roosevelt’s adventurous spirit. Over the three days, more than 10,600 visitors from around the world joined the excitement.
Throughout the event, TRA Executive Director Chris Cosentino and Youth Program Lead Dan Bedard shared fascinating stories about America’s 26th president, highlighting Theodore Roosevelt’s lifelong curiosity, conservation efforts, and boundless energy. Visitors learned about historic TR sites—including the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site and Sagamore Hill National Historic Site—and the many ways the TRA brings Theodore Roosevelt’s legacy to life through educational programs and events.
One of the most popular attractions at the TRA booth was the Theodore Roosevelt Indoor Wildlife Expedition. There, young adventurers explored different regions of the world and discovered the animals that TR himself admired and studied, deepening their appreciation for nature and wildlife.
Families also had the chance to learn about the exciting new Junior Rough Riders youth membership program, designed to empower young people to embody Theodore Roosevelt’s values of courage, curiosity, and service.
The TRA extends heartfelt thanks to the Intrepid Museum for hosting this wonderful event and looks forward to returning next year to continue inspiring the next generation of leaders through the enduring values and life lessons of Theodore Roosevelt.
