2014 Capital Area Chapter Theodore Roosevelt Police Award

To be eligible for consideration, the individual must be a full-time employee of a federal, state or local law enforcement agency in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and must have experienced a serious physical handicap, illness or injury and returned to work. The injury or illness could have occurred prior to entering the police force; an injury may have taken place while off-duty.

The individual must be in good standing with his or her department and displayed exemplary service after returning to work. Individuals nominated for the award previously but not selected may be re-nominated.

Nominations must be endorsed by the individual’s commanding officer and department chief and should include a detailed description of the nominee’s handicap, illness, or injury, efforts to overcome the adversity, accomplishments, service record, dates of appointment and assignments.

All nominations must be submitted by September 30, 2014.
